Fountain Circle Care and Rehabilitation Center takes top honors in Hometown Film Festival

Winchester, KY. (Oct. 10, 2014) – Residents from Fountain Circle Care and Rehabilitation Center recently got a chance to flex their creative filmmaking skills – and it paid off.

The local nursing home and rehabilitation center is proud to announce that it recently took home top honors in Signature HealthCARE’s fourth annual Hometown Film Festival Award. Residents and staff members at Fountain Circle Rehab won the award in the “Best Original Film” category. The film was titled “Golden Cup of Tapioca,” starring Fountain Circle Rehab residents and staff members.

As a festival winner, the facility will receive a paid vacation for a group of its residents. This is also the fourth consecutive year Signature has taken an annual resident vacation.

Each of the past three years, a group of residents from Signature’s rural facilities have had the opportunity to travel – first to Walt Disney World, then Myrtle Beach, and last year, to Branson, Missouri. This year, Signature opted for a different approach and took a series of smaller vacations, taking into account many residents’ ‘dream vacations’ in an effort to better accommodate their preferences. Many of these residents haven’t been on a vacation in years, and some have never left their hometown or home state. This year’s vacations include Boston, Atlantic City, Panama City Beach, Gatlinburg and a return trip to Walt Disney World.

Both the film festival and the annual vacations fall under the company’s Quality of Life programming, which is designed to keep residents active and excited by continuing to provide new experiences. “Golden Cup of Tapioca,” along with films created by other nursing centers, can be viewed online HERE.

“We are so proud of what our residents and team created, and honored to receive this award,” said facility Administrator/CEO S’Lena Hudson. “Not only does this provide a fun, creative outlet for our residents, but it also is making dreams come true by providing them with a vacation. They can’t wait!”
